Tyke Selects Beat Stoney Creek in a Barn Burner!
“It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.”-Mark Twain

After two tough games against Brantford 99ers and the Kitchener Capitals, the Jr. Vets made a trek to Stoney Creek on Monday night to play against the Bruins. The physically much bigger Bruins were able to pressure the Jr. Vets in their defensive zone. Woodstock showed a lot of grit always fighting hard for the puck and not allowing Stoney Creek a lane to the net.

When the Bruins got a shot on net, the goalies, Nate & Omar, were there to make the big saves!
In the middle of the first period, Parker broke away with the puck and sniped a goal top shelf to make it 1-0 Vets. Shortly after, Aaron was able to dangle his way end to end and bury a beautiful goal to put Woodstock up 2-0. Stoney Creek scored late in the 1st period to make it 2-1!
The second and third periods saw chances for both teams turned aside by the goal tenders, including an incredible save by Nate in the dying seconds, and the game ended with the Jr. Vets earning a much deserved win!
Stars of the game were the four defensemen - Carter N., Ethan M., Nick L., & Erik J. - who played tough in their zone and kept the puck to safe areas!
Stoney Creek and Woodstock will be facing off on Monday December 22 at 5pm at the Civic Arena! Be sure to come watch the rematch and cheer on the Jr. Vets!
