Jr. Vets Defeat Stoney Creek 4-2!
The Woodstock Jr. Vets took the ice on Monday for the much anticipated rematch against the Stoney Creek Bruins. Midway through the first period Will banged home a rebound to put the Jr. Vets up 1-0.
While the Jr. Vets continued to play a strong game, Stoney Creek was able to net the next two goals of the game to give them a 2-1 edge. Halfway through the third period, the Jr. Vets tied it up when Parker unloaded a wrist shot from the top of the circles that found its way to the back of the net!

In the last few minutes of the game, the fans in attendance were treated to some great end to end action. With a couple minutes left to go, a great shift from the Woodstock forwards, Cohen & Colin, keep the puck in the Stoney Creek zone allowing Parker to score the go ahead goal!
Throughout the season, Woodstock has been backed by two great goalies and on this night, it was no different. Nate & Omar shined as they made numerous key saves during the game. Late in the third period with the Jr. Vets holding on to a 3-2 lead, a Stoney Creek player broke through on a breakaway. Omar was able to stand his ground and stop the hard wrist shot to preserve the lead for Woodstock.
With the Bruins goalie pulled, the Jr. Vets battled hard to keep the puck out of their defensive zone. With a beautiful hard shot from center ice, Erik was able to cap off the scoring and secure a 4-2 win for the Jr. Vets.
