Wow! What an exciting end to a great series against the Kitchener Jr. Rangers. Both teams put forth a strong effort in the series and the goal tending was fantastic! The Jr. Vets took the lead in the series by winning the first two games and then Kitchener evened it up with a powerful effort over the weekend. Game 5 was crunch time for both teams.

And so we meet again......after a great series against Brantford, the team is looking forward to an exciting series against a strong Kitchener team. Our last meeting with Kitchener was the final game in the Byron Optimist tournament. What a thrilling game it was......with Kitchener prevailing in a tight game. The Minor Atom Vets have been practicing hard and look forward to meeting the Jr. Rangers in their first game of the semis today.

Congratulations to the team on a strong effort in Buffalo last weekend. Everyone put forth their best effort and it was certainly a memorable event for all. The team went undefeated through their first 4 games and came up short in the semis with a score of 4-1 against Markham. All players should be proud of their efforts. What a cool experience playing on an outdoor rink in front of so many cheering fans. Way to go Minor Atom Vets!!

Players and Parents,
I would like to start by saying thank you for attending tryouts this year. The coaching staff have been very impressed by the level of play and effort from all those participating. This is the largest group of players to tryout in the 2007 birth year yet, a trend that bodes well for the future. Some very hard decisions had to be made and we encourage everyone to continue to work on the skills which will make you a better hockey player.
