Tyke Select, U12 Travel, 2015-2016 (Woodstock Minor Hockey)

The boys won 5-3 Sunday on solid positional play.  Four goals were scored by passes from behind the net or corner.    We also cleared the puck from in front of our net defensively a number of times due to good sound back checking and defensive positioning.     We also had great defensive angling examples in this game.  Three Stars  *Ben Clough  **Brennen Gennings  ***Josh Hall

Excellent game this past Sunday vs St Thomas The lines and defensive parings are starting to gel. There was 2-3x the passing as seen in previous games The score sheet was full of assists because of it.   I want to strongly encourage your child that an assist is worth as much and is as important as a goal. The Tyke Select had a complete team game winning 4-1 over the St Thomas Stars. The team had a good positional game and got lots of scoring chances because of it. Our defense had a solid game & our forwards back checked hard. Our goalie tandem shut out the Waterford team 5-0 on Saturday night. We had a good defensive performance from the full team, with lots of back checking.
