U12 B, U12 Travel, 2022-2023 (Woodstock Minor Hockey)

Please be advised that there is a mandatory player and parent meeting after Thursdays practice (location to be determined) at 6:00pm.  Practice is September 29th from 5:00-5:50.  If you are unable to attend this meeting, please let Chris or Jon know. Please have the players bring their home blue jersey if they have one for a picture. If you do not have a jersey, we have a few extra.  Jon

The Coaching Staff have decided on this year's B Team and we will be contacting those invited for an AP spot in the coming week.  Thanks for everyone who came out, a number of factors were involved with the final decision which made this very difficult.  This year's team: Jaxon Ross, Gabe Gardiner, Griffin Versteeg, Peyton Walters, Clarke Gignac, Hoss Van Damme, Carter Loft, Everett Jukema, Cooper Scott, Caiden Vanacker, Cohen Fisher, Ethan Innis, Levrett Fawcett, Kacey MacDonald, Nathan Oliveira, Owen Hannah, Marco Bombini.

This is the hard part - releasing players.  I first started coaching without kids, REP teams so the emotional detachment was there.  The process changed with my oldest, releasing friends children, knowing they were and no words at that time comfort them. It's decision time (and this is what I signed up for). There are a number of variables I am weighing right now and unfortunately some players/parents will be upset, confused or angry - I understand but the decisions made are what we feel are best moving forward and I stand by that. The plan is to have the TEAM made tonight after practise.  ...

Tonight will consist of 20/30 minutes of skating and then an inter squad game/evaluation.  I have been very impressed starting with the REP tryouts, have discussed with the REP team their evaluations and thoughts and hard decisions will have to be made.  I had evaluators during the REP tryouts who had no affiliation to our team or players and came to our tryouts as well - their analysis/feedback is appreciated but our coaching staff will be making the final team.
