TRYOUT INFORMATION
Reminder of the upcoming final tryout times:
Monday May 30th 5:00 -6:00 for all players
Tuesday May 31st 5:30-6:30 for goalies only
Wednesday June 1st 5:00-6:00 for all players
Monday June 6th 5:00-6:00 for all players
*All tryouts at Southwood Green
Please arrive a little early to get your pinny and your son’s player ID#. Woodstock Minor Hockey has a new tryout process this year to advise players of the status on the team. The link to our team website will have a Tryout Player List. You can identify your son by his player ID#. Within 24 hours of each remaining tryout, the list will be updated to reflect your son’s status on the team. If your son’s status indicates ‘RELEASED’ he has been cut from the team and is not to return to any further tryouts. After the final tryout, those remaining players that have made the team will have their status updated to ‘SELECTED’. Please do not lose or share your player ID# with anyone.
As I know many players have other sport commitments right after tryouts, I have chosen not to hold a parent meeting until the team has been selected. Please only continue to have your son come out to tryouts if he and your family is committed to the team. Being a part of an MD Travel team requires both a financial and big time commitment. I am looking for players that not only show hockey skill, but also try hard, listen, be respectful to all on the ice, and above all have fun! Also, parents remember that in order for the team to run I will need parent volunteers once the team is selected to fill the positions of assistant coach, manager, trainer, treasurer, fundraiser, and parent rep.
