Minor Atom Vets -- 2nd Place in Rochester NY
The Minor Atom Navy Vets were in Rochester NY over the weekend to compete in the Rochester International Tournament.
The boys had a fantastic weekend - narrowly missing out on capturing the championship title and came away with 2nd place. The boys got underway Friday defeating the Ottawa Sting 2-1 and the Munroe County Eagles 7-1. Then on Saturday they kept the tournament undefeated streak alive with a 1-1 tie vs the Pittsburgh Predators.
The boys finished the round robin seeded in second overall and drew a quarter final re-match with the Munroe County Eagles - defeating them once again - this time by a 4-0 score. The semi final match was a 5-1 victory over the Markham Islanders which gave them a birth in the Championship game vs the undefeated TNT Tornados. In the final - the boys held a 2-0 lead heading into the third but the Tornados came back with 4 goals in the third to claim the championship.
Overall - a fantastic effort by the Minor Atom Vets - with their only defeat of the tourney coming in the final.
