Cambridge Festival of Friendship Tournament
The Minor Atom MD squad experienced their first taste of tournament hockey this past weekend when they participated in Cambridge's Festival of Friendship Tournament. The team got off to a slow start when they played against their first opponent the Oakville Hawks and lost 6-1. The next day they put together a much better effort all around which resulted in a 4-4 tie against the Oakville Lions and a dominate win against the George Bell Titans 15-0.
These performances won the team an opportunity to play in the semi-finals where they had a rematch against the Oakville Lions. Unfortunately this time, the Lions skated away with a 4-0 win and ultimately went on to beat Cambridge in the finals to claim the championship. Congratulations to the Oakville Lions!
