WMHA Supports Hockey Gives Blood
Submitted By Gordon Whitehead on Tuesday, December 4, 2018
Hockey Gives Blood was created after the Humboldt Broncos tragedy as many of the patients involved were blood recipients. It was founded on the belief that every team, league and player can make a lasting difference to ensure something good could come from any situation.https://www.hockeygivesblood.ca/
WMHA is invited to donate blood together as a team on Thursday, February 7 at Woodstock Goff Hall – anytime between 1:30pm and 7:30pm. Donating blood takes about 1 hour. Can you spare an hour to save a life?  Walk-ins are welcome, but we encourage people to book appointments. To schedule an appointment visit blood.ca or download the Giveblood app.

To donate blood, you have to meet the eligibility criteria. You must be age 17 or older, in general good health, have no tattoos or piercings within the last 3 months. To find out if you’re eligible visit: https://myaccount.blood.ca/en/eligibility-quiz. There are other ways to contribute if you are not eligible: Organize a group donation, volunteer with Canadian Blood Services, or share this information on social media.

For more information or to block off group appointment spots contact Sarah Rider –[email protected] or Kristen Ungar - [email protected]
