Important Updates
Submitted By Sarah Rider on Tuesday, November 3, 2020
First off, we want to thank you all for joining us on the ice and helping to keep minor hockey going strong. This year has had it's challenges for everyone, and we are very happy to be back at the rink!

We know that staying within the public health, province and city guidelines hasn't been the easiest on everyone. We, unfortunately, are not making any of the rules these days, and are following as best we can within all of the return to play guidelines as well.

With that said, changes are still happening frequently, and as we navigate these waters, we update you when we are clear on what we know.

On that note, we do have a few updates to notify everyone of.

Travel fees for Rep and MD are set at $500 per team due by December 18th, 2020. If the season should open up, we will re-evaluate at that point for any additional costs.

U16-U20 (Midget Juvenile) Houseleague will begin the weekend after December 1st, tentatively. We need everyone registered by Novemeber 20th at the latest. Late registration will not be accepted. You will have to contact the Director to be put on a waitlist. The numbers will dictate 3v3 or 4v4. We encourage you to reach out to the Director if you have your certification as a coach or trainer to volunteer your time behind the bench.

The health screening is now digital. This is a add on to our website from Alliance. You can download the app in your Apple or Android store. It is also accessible by web browser. Every player and bench staff will need to do the check before every ice time. Coaches have been and will be receiving emails to get this started over the next few days. Parents and Guardians, please be on the look out for your email to activate your account for your child. If you have multiple children, please click each individual email to get them added to your profile. To switch between children, you simply select "switch user".

Volunteers will still be needed at the tables to maintain contact tracing for the city. Do reach out to your coaches to help at the sign in table. Every bit helps in these uncertain times. Write your name on the bottom of each time slot that you do, as only four times are needed to get your bond back.

**You must arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled ice time and stay at the table until your ice time begins.**
If you leave even five minutes early, that time slot will not be counted towards your bond. We have to follow the rules to maintain our program, so your assistance is key. Speak to your coach or a fellow teammate's parent to assist your child with getting on their equipment. Please tell/show your child the coach and vice versa, the first two times at least, so they each know what is going on. If you are the only person there for your child, you main enter the building after completing the volunteer obligation.

I can speak to this personally, the kids do adapt easier than we think. My kids are often left with coaches or other parents as I can't stay to watch any of them these days even if I am able to get them on the ice, as usually another kid is coming off the ice or another is going on the ice. I feel you parents!

I've also been asked a few times, and YES! You can exit the building after getting them on the ice as well. Just let your bench staff know that you wont be there afterwards and someone will be meeting your child at the exit doors.

Bench staff, we can't thank you enough for not only coaching, but stepping up with some extra tasks to make sure every child gets out there still. Truly, thank you!

If you have any questions at all, reach out to us. No question is a dumb question. This is new for all of us.

We look forward to seeing the kids out there, learning and having fun, each and every time!
